Back To Shopping and My Favorite Stores

Hi! So…it has been a long break, I stopped writing my blog for a while but I am happy to be back. This summer, as usually, we went home ( Azerbaijan) and we stayed in Italy on our way back. We had a great time both in Azerbaijan and Italy, but it feels so good to be back to Fargo! I had this feeling that something is missing in my life. Can you guess what? Shopping and writing about it! Today I would like to share with you my favorites stores that we don’t have in Fargo, but you can always shop online as I do!

Banana Republic. First time I shopped at Banana Republic was in Chicago four years ago when I just moved to the United States. I loved that store from the very first visit and I still keep the purple cardigan that I bought there. From this season’s collection I like the flit and flare skirt, which you can wear with a blouse and you can also combine it with a loose sweater.

$69.50

L’Occitane en Provence. When it comes to beauty products I can’t think of any other stores I’d rather shop than L’Occitane en Provence. This is a French brand that sells natural beauty products. First time I saw this store in France and I just loved all that smell from soaps, crèmes, lotions and etc. One of my favorite products is Angelica Hydration Crème. I tried other moisturizers from L’Occitane but this one works best for me. It is light, well-absorbed and provides necessary hydration.

$42.00

Bloomingdale’s. This is a store where I can shop for anything from home items to clothing for my son. I love the jewelry collection from Marc by Marc Jacobs. You can check it here http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/jewelry-accessories/all-jewelry/Brand,Sortby,Productsperpage/MARC%20BY%20MARC%20JACOBS,ORIGINAL,96?id=20033&cm_sp=NAVIGATION-_-TOP_NAV-_-3376-FASHION-JEWELRY-All-Jewelry.

My Beauty Splurge this Week

When I saw a Lancôme gift with Paris themed cosmetic bag at Macy’s I couldn’t resist myself to get something from Lancôme. What I like most in this gift set is the image of a flirty, fashionable and happy girl with the Eiffel tower on the background.

You need to make $35 purchase to get the free gift. Since I did not need anything from makeup and skincare line, I decided to look at body products. I tested some of the Nutrix Royal Body cream on my hand and I loved the texture and smell. It is well absorbed and does not feel greasy. I just started to use this cream and it works very good for dry skin. I would definitely recommend to use this product in winter when the skin is very dry and dehydrated.

All Natural Soaps

Lately I got obsessed with all natural soaps, especially after new research on triclosan, ingredient found in antibacterial soaps which can cause some hormonal effects. You can read more about it here http://www.prwatch.org/news/2013/12/12349/fda-asks-companies-demonstrate-safety-and-effectiveness-antibacterial-soaps.

Fortunately, we have enough natural and chemical free products in Fargo-Moorhead area. Here are my findings:

Pure Castile Bar Soap at Swanson Products

$4.09

Pre de Provence Pure Vegetable Soap at Zandbroz Variety

$5.50

Goat’s Milk Soap  at Tochi Products

$3.90

Clearly Natural Glycerin Soap at Cashwise Foods

$1.69

Warm Outfit for a Toddler Boy

Since it started getting really cold I searched almost all kids’ stores in Fargo for warm clothes and accessories for my son. He is attending a child care now and they spend some time outside each day. So I want to make sure that he dresses warm enough during these chilly days. I am going to share with you what I found in our stores.

My first goal was to find warm pants and I noticed there are not many choices of flannelled pants. I liked these two pairs of jeans that are soft and really warm.

How To Dress French

Today I’d like to share with you the secrets of French style, how to dress like French women and what are the essential pieces to create French wardrobe. Having spent two years in France I observed how French women dress. Although I lived in Strasbourg which is very diverse city with students all over the world and people working for European institutions it wasn’t hard to understand what the French chic is about.

French women are famous for their elegant, chic, feminine but yet simple style. French women will never go out in fleece pants, they prefer ballet flats to sneakers and they know how to wear makeup and still look natural.

The golden rule for French women is simplicity (less is more). They prefer neutral colors like white, black, grey, camel and navy so that they can easily mix and match their clothes.

I am going to share some essential items for French style that you can find in our stores.

  1. Classic Trench Coat. London Fog Trench Coat from Macys.
